The Center for Microbial Communities (CMC) was founded in 2013 as an interdisciplinary research center funded by Aalborg University, Danish and German Research councils, the EU and additional support from industry and foundations. Center for Microbial Communities

The project will provide novel knowledge and tools for transforming simple wastewater treatment plants into resource producing facilities, and will open numerous avenues for the application of microbial communities to help solve the “grand challenges” of various biotechnologies. OnlineDNA

EcoDesign MBR

The Danish Council for Strategic Research has founded the EcoDesign MBR Centre in the period from 2010-2016 together with companies and universities. The Centre will apply a novel approach which determines the identity, function and interactions of key microorganisms in mixed communities involved in selected environmental biotechnological processes. eCOdesign

RecoverP

The ReCoverP project is funded by Innovation Fund Denmark together with companies and universities in the period 2015-2018. The purpose of the ReCoverP project is to increase the P recovery from wastewater and transform it into high quality P products that can be used in agriculture and industry.

Nomigas

The NomiGas project is funded by The Danish Council for Strategic Research together with companies and universities in the period from 2014-2017. The purpose of the NomiGas project is to establish a novel microbiological platform encompassing extensive microbial community analysis, discovery of indicator species and production of a functional genomics catalogue and metabolic models of key organisms.
