Our research in environmental chemistry and toxicology focuses on fate, adverse effects and remediation of micropollutants. There is a special focus on Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CECs) and different mitigation technologies.

The research in UV technology focuses on the mitigating effects of different UV regimes (UV-A, UV-B, UV-C, Vacuum UV) on inactivation of microorganisms and degradation of contaminants (e.g., CECs, microplastics, trace gases). The research group has state-of-the art art UV equipment for disinfections and AOP processes.

Research in drinking water quality focuses on fate of bacterial contaminants and removal of contaminants by novel methods.
