Lactic acid fermentation

Lactic acid has a range of applications in feed and food (e.g. as acidifier, for preservation and for flavoring) and cosmetics (e.g. as emulsifier or for moisturizing) and as a building block for the synthesis of polymers such as polylactic acid (PLA). Lactic acid is produced by fermentation using lactic acid bacteria, which need a complex and nutritious substrate. The fresh green juice or the juice after protein extraction is very suitable. For a continuous production, additional sugars for this production could be produced from the hydrolyzed press-cake.
